Another chimney removal completed, this time for Walker & Waterer in Warsash, Hampshire.
This chimney was the source of ongoing water ingress due to failed leadwork and poor original detailing. The stack had been built off a single lead tray, which allowed movement over time — leading to cracking, blown brickwork and failure of the flashing.
Works carried out:
• Full chimney stack removal below roof level
• Roof structure rebuilt and strengthened where required
• New felt and battens installed to match the existing (non-breathable system)
• Tiles reinstated to match existing
• Brickwork patched in at gable level to match seamlessly
• Roof made watertight following removal
All works completed safely using our mobile scaffold tower.
If you’re experiencing leaks around a chimney or roof junctions, it’s rarely a simple patch repair — the underlying issue needs addressing properly to prevent it coming back.
